THE WHAT AND WHEN OF PENTECOST, Acts 2:1-11

HISTORIC SETTING:

No subject in Christian theology is more misunderstood that the Pentecost experience. Abuses of every kind are blamed on Pentecost. Doctrinal error is knowingly being taught and vast amounts of money is given in an attempt to obtain "the baptism of the Holy Spirit", "the second work of grace", "the gift of tongues", "special enlightenments", "divine healings", etc. Hawking the Holy Spirit constitutes much of the religious television, publications, radio and vast bulk mailings. Claims of millions of unsubstantiated "miracles" are credited to Pentecostal experiences. People are taught to seek the Holy Spirit in very unbiblical methods and often even in unnatural manners.

This is an attempt to answer the question, "Is the Pentecostal movement Pentecostal or is it extra-biblical?"
