Kihei Baptist Chapel was founded in 1958 as a mission church. The first buildings were moved to the site in 1961. The first full-time minister came to the church in 1975. Additional buildings have included: office, nursery, children's classrooms and a small auditorium. A preschool has been a ministry of the church since 1979. The church supports a growing outreach and missions ministry. The church is a leading Biblical island ministry. Kihei Baptist Chapel continues to have a worldwide ministry to thousands of visitors and Christian leaders annually.
